Tribute Service

We want parents, siblings, friends, and staff to be assured that every child is valued and honored by those of us who were fortunate to be a part of the lives of these children.

We have some families that have been attending the tribute service for as long as 10 years. They provide emotional and spiritual strength to the families who are coming for the first time.

This is a very emotional and personal program. With written permission, we feature each child on a video (all of these children are and were much more than their illnesses or accidents), usually with the child playing or sharing in a game or event. Parents tell us that they do not want their child to be forgotten and this is a golden opportunity for parents to be assured that they are remembered as well as their child or children (some have lost more than one child).

We typically have a speaker, often a parent, whom other parents can relate to as someone who has been on the same journey of sadness and healing.

We also recognize each child during a special ceremony. During this time, each child's name is called out in the darkened room and families light their own glowing reminders of their loved ones. The ceremony continues until the room is filled with lights, assuring parents that they are not alone.

Afterward, we have refreshments and a time for the families to share their stories with new participants.

Depending on availability due to funds, we've included live music and ice sculptures during previous service times. We would also like to provide a personalized flashlight for each family to take as a keepsake.
